Shane and Amanda

I've been preparing for an upcoming wedding and realized I hadn't blogged about a fun engagement shoot with Shane and Amanda. This shoot was extra special for me not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level.

I met Amanda and Shane about three years ago when I started exploring Fashion and Model photography. In those three years, I have been able to work with Amanda on a couple different occasions either at a photoshoot just for her or as part of a fashion show. As a model, Amanda has worked with a wide variety of the best photographers in Oklahoma and she knows exactly what she wants from her images. You can imagine my shock when I received a message asking if I would want to do her engagement photos. Holy Cow, no pressure with that!! But, Yes, of course I'm in.

After discussing several different looks and locations, we finally settled on an early morning shoot at Lake Arcadia. On the day of the shoot, the weather didn't want to cooperate. Clouds, lightning and the threat of rain pushed us in to a great little coffee spot for a while. That wasn't all bad, though. It gave us a little extra time to talk about their wedding plans, the honeymoon and life after marriage. When the clouds parted, we headed to the lake for their shoot.

Because of their modeling background and the extra time we were able to spend together drinking coffee, their shoot was nearly perfect. I like for my shoots to be fun, relaxed and natural feeling. Shane and Amanda didn't have any problem with that at all. I was able to direct them to a rock or tree stump then step out of the way and capture the moments. Their love for each other was really evident and truly made their engagement shoot FUN! The wedding is now just around the corner and I know this is just the start of their Happily Ever After!
